Response to Dagmawi: Have you no shame, mister!!!

As a regular visitor to the many Ethiopian pro-democracy websites and blogs each morning, it was with utter incredulity that I read Dagamawi’s Wednesday morning sermon. None of the usual pretense of Dagmawi as the objective prognosticator of Ethiopian politics. This morning Dagmawi is fit to be tied because there is word that Andaragachew is in Asmara.

Well, excuse me! First of all, so what dude? Secondly, why don’t you just mind your own damn business? Thirdly where do you get off pontificating about who any individual or party should talk to, meet with or find common cause to save our Motherland.

I gag when I hear Tigrayans go into a tizzy over Issayas Afeworki , the former godfather of the Tigrai People’s Liberation Front (woyane) but the present day devil incarnate. Gosh, if the hypocracy wasn’t sooooooooooo thick that one could cut it with a knife, some of us might try to understand Dagmawi’s emotional outburst and hope he didn’t suffer a concussion.

Eighteen years ago the northern cousins and comrade-in-arms, Issayas and Meles had formed a united front to liberate Tigray and Eritrea from colonial Ethiopia and taken an omerta in the caves of Dedebit; while I bet Tigrayan compatriots like Dagmawi, inside Ethiopia or in the Diaspora, were footing the bill to actualize the dream of Tigrayan ascendancy to power in Ethiopia. I also bet at that time, to blind ethnic loyalists like Dagmawi, Issayas was a demi-god and a savior they worshipped the Sahel desert he walked on.

It is not only the height of woyane’s and its apologists lunacy, but the epitome of what we call in Ethiopian culture absolute kelet (shame) for the askaris who masterminded the toxic politics of ethnicity, the plunder of Ethiopia to the sole benefit of Tigrayans, the dismemberment of Ethiopia by knowingly signing away our port and making Ethiopia the most populous land locked country in Africa to pontificate about the dangers of making “deals with the devil.” Granted it takes one to know one, but I’ll let Ethiopians decide who is the mortal enemy of Ethiopia today.

Now, if Tigrayans want a laundry list of the treacherous acts and high crimes they have single handedly committed against Ethiopia and Ethiopians, bring it on. For far too long, many of us have appealed to the better angels of our nature hoping against hope that Tigrayans will come to their senses and mend their ways. Instead what we consistently hear is that Tigrayans will rule Ethiopia by any means necessary. We say enough is enough. We are not going to watch our country being destroyed by what Col. Goshu Welde has aptly termed the khmer noir regime in Ethiopia and its Tigrayan ennablers.

You had your chance and you have screwed it up royally. Now whether the askaris crowd in panic mode is fit to be tied, the struggle to free our land from Tigrayans who have murdered, maimed and plundered our people will accelerate by all means necessary, gabish!

Actually, it is not Ginbot 7 you have to worry about, but the righteous anger of the Ethiopian people that has reached the boiling point and will soon devour woyane.
